Potassium is one of the best. There are several vitamins that help mental awareness, but I was told that test takers who eat a banana before a test score better than those who don't. So, I tried it when taking my Contractor tests. I believe it helped. It may have been the power of suggestion, but I passed.

you need more food with protein and iron, try taking vitams B,A and omega 3. or eating, meat, fish, quinoa, baked beans with wholemeal bread! avoid sugary products as they make the brain overact and focus can become very difficult
protein repairs cells and nerve endings which can help with deppression that is if you have a chemical imbalence form of depression also try herbal teas especiallygreen tea its full of antioxidants making your body more refreshed and awake increasing focus and awareness, not too much though cause the hot water will make you tiered!

Now as for the depression try a combanation of vitamin b6 and b12 make sure you drink plenty of water and exercise as well. there are specfic herbal remadies out there for people with depression who don't wish to utilise normal prescription treatments.

Gingko Biloba is an herb that helps with mental focus and St.John's Wort is good for depression. Valerian root is a good one for anxiety. Try these, it takes a while for you to realize the effects, but if you take them continuously, they will help.
