The director has stated that the line was unscripted and unknown to her and the actor has declined to repeat the line when asked. There appears to be growing agreement, however, among careful listeners that the line is indeed "I'll always remember the past few days with you. Don't part mad. Tell him the truth. OK?"

I saw that movie in theaters with friends. They hated it. I loved it. The overwhelming reason they didn't like the movie was actually this scene. They wanted desperately to know what he said. I knew that it really wasn't intregal to loving the film.

The whisper is deliberately unheard, because, like the entire experience, it is a private and personal moment between Bill and Scarlett's characters---it is the reason the story is special---it's about two people lost, who find each other for a brief time and share something that only the two of them feel together...what's not important is the whisper, but that Bill Murray's character comes back to whisper that message to her, to share with her one last moment, to let her know, maybe, how special the time they had was to him, as well as to her...

"In case this is over, I wish you all the best" it is in reference to rumors that Scarlette Johansen was up for a Golden Globe and perhaps an Oscar.

I just want to reiterate what Jenny B stated....absolutely wonderful movie! I think the ending was left to audience interpretation; it was intentionally ambiguous..

I think he whispers, "I'm wearing your underwear."

I loved that movie too, by the way.
