I have been raised to treat others the way I'd like to be treated. Why do answerers have to attack the person when it's the question or answer that's bothering him/her?
People can be so nasty here? Why are they so angry? Do you think it's because they're so unhappy they spread such vile over this site? Or just for the attention?I'm thinking how violent would one of them be in person?

People feel they can be nasty because they do it anonymously. It is much easier to insult someone from behind a screen name than face-to-face.
The politics section is probably the worst, but hey, that's politics. Look at how our leaders get their jobs - not by having the best ideas, but by insulting the ideas of their opponents. Their grade-school mentality trickles down to their supporters. I'm not saying it is right, or justified, just that if we expect this kind of behavior from those in charge, it is no surprise that is have invaded the rest of society.
I agree, though, with the premise of your question. I am more that happy to answer legitimate questions and debate legitimate issues, but I won't get caught up in the childish bickering that goes on here most of the time. Life is too short to waste it on ignorance and pettiness.

This is because many people who give answers do not get best answer rewards or perhaps they do not know what should be the correct answer and just to get 2 points they reply as they like. It is not a fault of anyone, it is fault of human brain which some times stop functioning in correct direction. It is also when a girl or woman asks any question it is the habit of man to reply in ugly manner just to irritate the woman folk.

It is definitely the Internet and people's ability to hide who and where they are. But some of this is more than over the edge when you ask a serious question that you get called names or told what to do with yourself people need to back off and for Yahoo to ding people for some of the bizarre things they do and not hit these purely a@#$% retorts is wrong.

People who make personal threats/degrading comments on sites such as this are very sad little people sitting all alone in their room trying to make themselves feel important. If they put in half the effort to reply with an honest or funny answer as compared to their vitriolic crap then we could all enjoy this site a wee bit more.
and yes, I do see the irony of my comment :-)

in my line of work, requires me to speak and communicate via phone and email. most people will be rude and retaliate towards this kind of communication because they don't see any personality in voice or word, just a faceless icon.
so most people thinks it okay to be rude cause thinking it's just a 1 way communication; they'll hang up on you, delete your email or in this case plainly answer the question without taking into consideration that these questions are ask for they need answers (not stupid remarks but can't be help sometimes cause it's a stupid question (^_^) hehehe.....
but most of these people are actually nice in real life. so be nice, there are personality and feeling behind each yahoo account (wink! wink!)

These are Trolls Mean nasty questions & answers. If you answer their Q they zap you with report abuse even for polite answers. They know no better. I think many of these folks are high school dropouts with time to kill. They are probably nasty to their parents in real life but I don't think most of them are violent. They are just showing off.

Sara dont worry about people you don't know and will never meet. To them all things like this are a joke. Concentrate on the finer things in life and when people are vile unless the support you or pay ur rent forgetaboutit!!

How true!!!!!! They take the freedom of expression to the max...No jaded answers but just pure insults and sarcasms.
But what irks me the most is that the asker doesn't bother to choose the best answer. So the most degrading reply gets voted.

becoz they r not happy from heart becoz they know some thing is going on wrong but they r not able to change those wrong things that's y all r angry ,all r voilent, all r sad from inside they not angry from the people they angry from themself.. y y .. they don't just forget what happen before think of whats happening wellcome future with a smile and say bye to present with smile
