The Constitution is still in effect- you are hearing from people even past liberals and Conservatives, getting closer to conspiracy theorist.. I don't like Bush- but realistically all the Patriot Act did, was take Acts already in place and clump them into one- everything that everyone had heard about the Patriot Act had already been in place since the 70s, 80s, and 90s. No one felt their rights were being violated then.... He did go to far though the second time around signing the Patriot Act when he decided to put a clause in there that he will not have to get Congress OK during a time of War. Also if the President ever passed a law that violated our Constitution, then the Supreme Court would throw it out. If anything arises that is not in our Constitution or our Constitution needs to be changed, then that is why we have amendments. We still have our rights, our Constitution still serves a purpose, our Constitution is not outdated and if anyone thinks differently they can swim on over to Cuba and take a look around.

Given the fact that the conflict mongering Bush is and has been waging an unlawful conflict with out any Constitutional statement of conflict ALL based UPON FILTHY STINKING LIES that has considered the slaughter of over 4 hundred,000 harmless Iraqi civilians and now sees some sixty 8% of people demanding an end to this crime against humanity and Bush giving WE,the individuals the FINGER, do you recommendations telling us what the hell distinction postponing the form could make exceptionally via fact that so a procedures the perfect court docket has ruled in 3 circumstances that Bush has certainly violated the form. whilst will individuals comprehend that of all of the western democracies ,the U. S. Republican form of govenment is via a procedures the least democratic and has the LEAST controls on the means of that's chief from no longer being waiting to choose for their very own chief interior the 1st place to giving him a ludicrously un-democratic "veto means" that makes a mockery of the very essense of democracy and that's the final public regulations. the full failure of the U. America as been prosperous because of this unique document and it is irrevocable under law! There ARE Those who would love to ERODE the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Amendments of the Bill of Rights as is being demonstrated by House Bill 254, sponsored by Sheila Jackson-Lee of TX. There are others that would love to mis-use those rights and promote anarchy as you see those promoting Illegal Immigration. Personally I don't think burning flags of your country and soldiers in effigy is Free Speech and neither is it Free Speech to promote smoking bans, polygamy, pedophiles as does nambla.org and a few other far out there environmentalists that would love to see you back in the dark ages of the pre-industrial age with no modern conveniences. At the same time it is better to know Who they are and what they represent! Sometimes a line has to be drawn, to preserve those inherent rights, that are within reason to promote domestic tranquility! Some advocating the overthrown of it are Socialists and throw backs from Hiter's Nazi regime.

The Constitution itself is a wonderful peace of art.
But, the laws stacked on top of each other and it allow way to many loopholes to be exploited which almost defeats it's whole purpose.

I don't feel it's worthless! If we go to war and get millions killed for our freedoms, how is it worthless? Or were their sacrifices worthless?
Bush thinks it is worthless, but it is Bush that meets that criteria!
The Military Commissions Act of 2006 goes a lot farther than the Patriot Act! Besides habeas corpus, under that act you lose all of these!
Amendment IV
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amendment V
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

I am not willing to give them up by Fiat!
Unconstitutional laws are just that, UNCONSTITUTIONAL!
The founding fathers did not make George Bush King or Hitler! He doesn't decide what is constitutional and what isn't. That is why there is a Judicial Branch, Not a MILITARY TRIBUNAL!

I think the Constitution still serves it's purpose. There is nothing wrong with it. If there were, someone could propose an amendment.
