...where it got you out of trouble or fixed something that you needed working at that moment? One that you're so proud of, that you actually keep it in your arsenal of "interesting tales about myself."

I had an old 1979 bmw 320i. I was driving home from school once and suddenly the gas pedal wasn't working. I pulled over to find that the throttle cable broke. So I took my shoelace off and tied it to the throttle lever. I left the hood slightly open, rolled down the window, and pulled the shoelace with my left arm hanging out. The car was a 4-speed stick so it was really akward having to balance the clutch while pulling on the shoelace to give it gas. I was laughing the rest of the way home.

Used a wire twist off a bread sack to repair a broken circuit in my truck's GPS receiver.
On the other hand, my kid brother repaired the distributor in his car with the top off a beer can. I had to bow in the presence of greatness.

Fixed my car with only household items while going on a field trip and my engine feeling a bit "ill". I'm so proud of it and i tell the story to anyone who wants to hear it.
