How much should a spouse or significant other be considered when thinking of having a breast reduction? I'm with a wonderful man who is very giving and would never tell me he doesn't want me to do it, but I also know he LOVES my figure, and my breasts play a large part in our sex life. I'm in my late 30's and have been busty all my life (40DDD), but I'm also not huge all over and would like to be more proportioned. I'm not considering it due to back pain or anything like that (then there would be no question), because I've always taken good care of myself (I wear only the best support bras). My dilemma is strictly cosmetic..I'd love to wear things smaller ladies can wear. And besides, I'd love, just once, to be looked in the eyes the first time someone meets me!!

Well, I'd say if you have back pain he has no say in the matter since it is your health at risk, but since you say you have no pain issues, he could input his opinion but all in all it is your body.

My fiance loved my large breasts and it played a part in our romantic life as well but since mine was for back pain he supported me totally. Since the reduction and the recovery he loves my perky breasts and plays with them as often as he did pre surgery.

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide to have them reduced or not. If I were in your position, I would have it done. It's a matter of your own self image.
Right now, you want to be able to wear clothes that are suitable and proportioned and you also have to consider the future. It would be a lot easier to have the operation now, than say 10-20 years from now.
Eventually, they will sag, even though you're using good support, because the skin thins out, over time and then it will be too late and you will end up with a "matronly" figure.
Your husband will adjust to the "new" you and perhaps even like your new figure better.
