Public Wi-Fi connection with Vista?

I am having problems getting connected at the airport. The computer gets a connection with the wireless signal , (reads the IP address, names the connection, but will not connect the laptop to the internet, any thoughts? Reads unidentified network and then the SSID is shown.

What happens when you launch your browser does a sign in page show? Most of the time you will need to "login" to get the final connection to the internet from these locations. Since you didn't say what you get in your browser I just had to ask?

If you try to use email, outlook etc before opening the browser you probably wont connect.
