Put some damp rid in the bathroom. It sucks up the moisture in the air and keeps it dryer. You can also use a dehumidifier as well.
Also clean the bathroom with clorox clean up or clorox bleach at least once a week. That will keep down on the mold a lot.

If you can afford it, remove the drywall in the bathroom and have it replaced(including the ceiling). When mold grows, it spreads, and there's a very good chance that the mold is still growing on the other side of the drywall.
After the drywall is replaced, be sure to use bathroom paint. Also, consider how effective your bathroom fan is at removing the moisture from the bathroom. Hold up a piece of paper to the fan when it is on. It should immediately cling to the fan cover. If it does not, then the airflow is not proper enough to remove all of the moisture in the air. Replacing the fan can be a very cheap option, even if you cant afford to replace the drywall.

Humidity causes mold to grow. You need an exhaust fan in the bathroom. (most codes require one in new homes) Wipe down the tub/shower area after using. Run the fan for at least 1/2 hour after using the tub/shower.

Use some Tilex to spray around near the toilet since I have that problem too with mold developing due to germs or humidity changes.
