why does my central heating fan light keep flashing

What make and model of boiler is it?????????????

It means your heater is getting too hot and the light is flashing as a warning, the same thing happened to me. I got a boiler engineer out and it didn't have enough water in it so check your dials and add water if necessary. It could be something serious though so get some boiler insurance quick!

Dig out the installation & service book, there is usually a fault finding section in the rear and may explain the flashing.

try turning the temperature down a couple of notches and see what happens.
if it persist get an engineer to take a look at it
