Congress has gone over the edge, they now are acting like a dictatorial body.
Have legal actions ever been brought against Congress?
Do you think now is a good time because if you cannot take legal action.........well, what do you have left to remedy a wrong?

As for mandates lets look back at the election promises and issues. Corruption, war, budget/spending, bush. Any others?
Had war or bush been the mandate ALL of the repubs would be out, so it is not a mandate, corruption and the budget therefore have to be the mandates. Has congress done anything to correct these, NO in fact it is now worse than before.
Ideologues and single issue voters did not set a mandate.
So the question stands, congress has failed its mandate and are in fact in violation of the constitution, therefore what legal action can be taken to force them to do their job under the guidelines of the constitution?

They are our legally elected representatives. Thank you for the "legal" part.
I remind you that they are our legally elected representatives. I don't thank you for suggesting action against THEM.
Take legal actions against their policies, against their actions. The difference is subtle, but is the major difference between dissent and protest vs. sedition.
Use free speech. Vote (this is temporary, as was wisely set up by our founders), trust in the system (yes, people will get hurt, but our freedoms have made us SO strong that the pain will be small, and we'll have time to react, as always). Start a petition (which is why you need to focus on their specific acts, not 'them') and get it signed and passed around (be sure to study the process).
There are hundreds of political positions in any given state that don't get filled because no one applies for them.
RUN FOR OFFICE and work yourself up.
Best of all, encourage others to do all of the above, EVEN if you disagree with them. You will be teaching them the difference between sedition and patriotism (a lot of Former President Clinton Haters and President Bush Haters could use a hefty dose of this).
Most of all, keep speaking up. Freedom is a wonderful thing. It will decide this war. WWIII will be decided with information, not nukes.

I agree! Legal action should be started immediately but not against Congress but against the dick-tator who sits in the Oval Office. The scars left on the face of America by this moron Bush will be a long time healing.

That is just not true and you had better check you nose to see if it is growing. They are doing exactly what they were hired to do. A majority of Americans want us out of Iraq. George Bush is dictating what kind of laws he wants passed. What has happened is checks and balances, Bush will veto, congress will try to pass another bill but Bush will have to compromise or he will in effect end the war for lack of funds. This is a normal function of congress and the way checks and balance is suppose to work. If you don't like it go to another country like China and live under a dictatorship, I personally will stay here because the government is back to working the way it is suppose to. .

How has Congress gone over the edge?
Was is by making lobbying harder, attempting to raise the minimum wage, or trying to clean up the situation is Iraq?
I refuse to believe that some people think that a majority of 535 people are wrong, and one single man is correct on such a polarizing issue; yet for some reason, that's what appears to be happening. Congress has not gone over the edge.

I think the dictator is in the White House, and Congress is doing the job it wasn't doing under the rubber stamp Republicans!
I think the legal action was taken last November when the Congress changed hands because of their do nothing "stay the course" Blank Check Mentality.
Incumbent Republicans, 2 in my state, were thrown out. There is your legal action!
