Seriously, one of the big perks is that you generally only need to buy, maintain and repair ONE of the major big purchase items: one house, one washing machine, one fridge, one giant big-screen TV, etc. etc. You may need to have a slightly bigger one than you would if you were single, but they don't generally cost twice as much.

You also have someone to love, and someone to watch after you which leads to health benefits down the road (and lower hospital costs).

Also, two can get great deals on food, towels and other purchases that would be too much for one person to use.

In my opinion there are none. Everything doubles except your income. You also lose half your assets, and half your living space, half your bank accounts, half your credit worth, and half your mind.

Yes you get a break in car ins, and get a couple of tax breaks but you make up the difference in your alcohol consumption.

Did it once.. never again... If you talk to most divorced men, you will get the same answers.. Most will say once is enough and never again. Marriage is for the young and stupid. It's nothing more then a legal screwing.

Madame M explained it perfectly from a womans point of view.. They get half of everything... So for the woman it's a gain, and for the man it's a loss. ;-)

Actually with a single mother and the live in boyfriend, you are better off tax wise than if one is head of household and the couple is married.

I will look forward to answers to this because I think getting married is dumb unless things are just right... Very right.

Just got married last year and so far, none. She takes all my time and money leaving me broke and disenchanted. Don't do it, Run for the hills. Get yourself a pet instead it will listen to you better. Just my opinions.
