There were 4 different designs of this flag. One was designed so poorly that it was mistaken as a truce flag on calm days of weather. For when it hanged it hid the stars and bars and appeared white.
The Confederate flag represents a similar pain for African-Americans as the swastika does for Jews.
Yeah it looks cool. But is it really what you want to portray to people about who you are? "Yeah I like the civil war, it tried to divide this nation. Yeah I like slavery, and I like being impoverished". Does this sound cool to you?

it's your truck paint it how you want. [note american civil war lasted about 5 yrs.] slavery in america had been going on in one form or another since the 1680's [indentured servitude] and it could be said that slavery exists today under the bush admin. but not color specific just the working class poor/illegal immigrants
