2) Who is the most Hated/Disliked team in the NHL?
I am from Australia and it is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to have anything to do with hockey over here, it's not on tv, theres no merchandise available, I can only follow my team over the net but the Net doesnt Have all the answers...Thanks =D

There is definitely NO consensus in the NHL (like there might be about, say, the oakland raiders in the NFL -- though that's disputed as well) about who is the most hated team or the most liked.

take it for what it's worth... having been a huge nhl fan for the last 15 years or so, I can honestly say that if someone claims that they know the answer to this question -- they're probably lying.
A lot of people *do* like detroit or colorado, but a lot of people also like pittsburgh or the ny rangers... and you could fill in many other teams in their places...
The devils have been a traditional nemesis of many nhl teams for hte last decade due mostly to their dominance after they invented the defensive neutral-ice trap and acquired one of the best goaltenders in history (brodeur, of course)... but i wouldn't say they're "hated"...
The flyers were tough guys for awhile in the early to mid-nineties... ron hextall, eric lindros, mark recchi and john leclair --- and a vicious supporting cast... these guys *might* have been hated in quite a few places, but still, no consensus...
it has a lot to do with there being SO MANY teams these days.. about 30 years ago, a fan could have answered you pretty easily, i'd imagine... but not today!

The answer to your questions is simple!!:) It is every team in the NHL!! All in all, the most popular will always fluctuate, but its most likely any of the "Original Six" teams: Red Wings, Maple Leafs, Habs "Canadians", Blackhawks, Rangers, and Bruins. But, again there is no simple way to say which is number 1. Heck for example: When the Av's Became the Av's after there move, because of there new looking Jerseys and the players they had, they were the team selling the most merch. for a 3yr run. didn't help matters that they were good though:)
As far as the most Hated.....HA!! I'm a WINGS, Maple Leafs, and Sabre's fan......So I'm gonna say the Av's, the Flyers, and the Bruins. Oh......I really Hate the Senators, but that's a person reason between me and some Canuck in my Fantasy hockey League. Lmao! But there really is no one hated most team now!

most popular teams in NHL are:
1- Montreal Canadiens
2- Toronto Maple Leafs
3- Detroit Red Wings
4- Chicago Blackhawks
5- New York Rangers
6- Boston Bruins
the first six i named are the Original Six teams
7- Philadelphia Flyers
but its hard to say which team is the most hated for me and many many Habs fan hate the Leafs as for the Oilers fans hate the Flames also known as the Battle of Alberta. so the most hated teams are just like the fans that cheer for one team will hate their biggest rival.
you will have allot of bias answers with people just saying their teams. and some people saying the Sabres cause cause they are having a great season but it still doesnt meen there the most popular team it would have to go to the Original six and the Flyers.

I'm from Aust. too - Melbourne to be specific. I am a Leafs fan, and I can normally find jerseys at the Queen Vic market - some of it is crap quality, but they do have some good CCM gear.
As for the most popular/disliked teams, it's kinda like AFL or NRL footy teams - different fans will give you different answers, based on rivalries. Some more well-known ones are Colorado-Detroit, Leafs-Canadiens, Devils-Rangers ... the list goes on (see the link below). As far as I can tell, Toronto is like Collingwood in the AFL - lots of money, huge passionate fan base, no recent success, hated by almost every other team's fan base.

The answers upstairs seemed to say the most popular/disliked HISTORICALLY, and I think you were looking for popular and disliked NOW.
Seems like a lot of the time here 99% of the stuff is about Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, they have an exciting young team. Detroit seems to be well-liked too.
Nashville didn't do itself any favors with the Modano incident, they may be the most hated. As noted above, New Jersey "supposedly" plays "boring Hockey" (I personally like the style they play and watching great Goalies, maybe that's just me).

The most popular team is definatley the Buffalo Sabres and the most hated team is the New Jersey Devils. NOT AN OPINION!

I don't think anybody cares much for the L.A. Kings, maybe I'm wrong though...

Back 40 years ago there were only 6 teams. TML was one, and was Canada's team. So many people tend to like teams from the original 6, and many Canadians follow TML. And for all the similar reasons, just as many people hate them. I fall into the second category.

as a devil fan, im not going to say its the devils, im going to say its the Detroit Redwing although i dont like them very much cuz they have bertuzzi now, they have been atop the standings for years and have been known as the team to beat!!!
the most disliked team in the NHL is the toronto maple leafs because they have meen and selfish players like tucker!!!!
