Na2S2O5 is Sodium Metabisulfite.

Sodium metabisulfite is sometimes used as a food additive.

HCl is the same type of acid as stomach acid.

But, when you mix them, it gives off sulfur dioxide which is poisonous. I imagine you got a strong whiff of "rotten egg smell."

Go to a doctor. You shouldn't be asking medical advice from random people on the internet....

Probably you inhaled some SO2 that has been formed by the redox reaction between the thiosulphate and the HCl:

2HCl(aq) + Na2S2O3(aq) -----> 2NaCl(aq) + SO2(g) + S(s) + H2O(l)

It must have burnt your throat and nose cause it forms a weak acid called sulphurous acid:

H2O + SO2 <-> H2SO3 (equilibrium reaction)

But don't worry you will survive even though its known to be toxic and irritates the respiratory system, you probably just inhaled one or two breaths its lethal only at high and prolonged exposure. THE IMPORTANT THING THAT IF YOU FEEL SICK GO AND SEE A DOCTOR.

I think you mean Na2S2O3 + HCl - the gas given off is sulphur dioxide, but not enough to make you ill, I expect. You smell it once, and then you stop. That's what intelligent chemists do!

You get 2NaCl+ 2SO2 and water.
With this I wan to tell you that you have to go to the doctor IMMEDIATELY! SO2 is a poisonous gas so RUN to the DOCTOR!
