i was reading a pregnancy magazine and it said dont point your toes while u stretch? why? i do notice pressure on my belly when i do it but i thought it was the muscles stretching over my baby. im so tired i want to stretch but i dont want to hurt the baby. and have to get things out of my reach, my bf is not always around to do things for me...if it hurts does it mean im over extending?

It can be easy to over-extend your joints when you are pregnant. Your body is producing chemicals to let your pelvis get limber when the big day comes (so that's a good thing!), but if you over-do it, you can hurt yourself.

If it hurts, DON'T DO IT! Get a stepstool, or wait for the bf to come around (in the meantime, clean out the lower cabinets so you can put the higher stuff where you can reach it).

Gentle stretching should be perfectly OK, as long as your doctor doesn't prohibit it. There's yoga books and DVDs for pregnant women.

If stretching hurts you, do not do that.
According to me please consult doc. you can not take risk at the cost of the baby.
