I really like Bob Dylans version he gets with it. Old but good.

The Eagles did an acoustic version that is very good.

So many people have done this song...not an easy one for its piercing pain......I think that the male artists that i have heard sing this far outweigh the femmes who have taken on this piece of musical history.....I would have to stay with Eric Burden on this one, I never did hear Dylan's rendition of it....
And i would have liked to see a live country rock version of this, as well as a troubadour, but thus far it has only been on vinyl for me.
Thanks...Hope that this finds you well...
Lioncourt.

I don't usually like cover or rearranged versions, but,as I've never heard any of the early traditional versions,I'll have to go with the Animals

I've heard many versions of it but I still like the original version the best. - By Eric Burdon and the Animals. (British pop group).
