Well that all depends on who in your area supplies wireless! If you are at a location that provides wireless connections then you can use it, if your not well your not. Most Starbucks provide one, as does Borders Books, and many companies but if you are not "inside" the coverage area you can't connect.

There are ISP's that provide wireless in some areas also but just like with DSL/Cable you have to subsribe to the service.
