Most of the time to me it is not only essential, imperative, i as well do NOT take anyone seriously if they do NOT spell well ~ I seem like an elitist who is a far cry from that at home....as i have two broken fingers and one with split tendons.... correct grammar and correct usage of language is of the utmost to me.
Right about now I couldn't give a F**** about it how mine comes out.....hope this doesn't offend you, but the issue is so close to me and i appreciated the question.....great question...do i judge others on their ability to convince me on paper? yes i do. is that a double standard? probably but so what.
Thanks

I think correct spelling is important to me.
I always find mistakes in others work, but I do not get irritated. Even I make mistakes.
No, I do not think less of that person.

It all depends. If it's work or an invitation, then it is important to at least put some thought into it. If it's a text message, then you really don't need to become so aggrevated because it's less professional.

I don't think that spelling is as important as getting the message across. Some people find it important but that is because of the professionalism.

I do not mind the spelling. But I get irritated when a person makes grammatical errors while typing (not speaking). So..... yep I do tend to think less of him/her I guess.

Spelling mistakes can be quite embarrassing, depending on the circumstances. I just have a giggle.

i wouldnt think less of them i get annoyed because when i went to school we were taught to spell correcctly. however in this day and age people have a whole new langauge with computers and mobile phones, i think us oldies have to learn todays lingo just to understand our kids and teenagers.because u wont stop it u just have to follow it. as an older generation leaves a younger generation moves in we have to learn there ways. allthough it is still important for them to know there history also.

No, I do not think less of the person, we all make mistakes, and sometimes get excited and forget to check. I just laugh about it and move on.

I don't really mind it, in regards to most situations, but if I am being asked for money from a company and they have spelling errors or they spell my name wrong I don't like that.

I can spell good. But my good friend daniel w is a very bad speller. He spells simple words wrong for example: Radio-Raido. Water-Weather. want-wont. That's the words he always gets wrong but he still my good friend and he is not dum at all :D
