If Kobe develops into the player Jordan became - drawing and dumping to a shooter, then Kobe might get on equal footing. I am a Bulls fan but would pick Magic Johnson over either of them as a playmaker or overall force.

Taken from wiki:

"In the 2004 Finals, they were eliminated by the Detroit Pistons in 5 games. In that series, Bryant averaged 22.6 points per game, shooting 35.1% from the field, and 4.4 assists per game."

Granted, Tayshawn Prince single handedly kept Kobe in lock.

At 26 yrs of age, Kobe only averaged 24 pts a game, while Micheal topped 30 and actually recorded 8 assists and 8 rebounds a game.

Kobe has yet to shoot better than 47% in a season, even while playing with Shaq and winning several championships with quality players on his team.

Jordan managed to shoot 52% from the field and drop 28 a game at the age of 21.

Also, Jordan has always been a consumate professional where we have seen drama from Kobe, such as elbowing opposing players, rape charges, getting close-lined by Raja Bell, etc.

Pound for Pound, Jordan has always been a more complete player and he found a way to score, even without decent players around him in his first several years in the league.

Jordan focuses on making players around him play together and improve. Kobe has been deemed as a selfish guy and not a leader in the locker room.

You do the math....until Kobe wins at least one without Shaq, the arguement will continue.

Kobe is one of the greatest scorers I have ever seen, but he is not a complete player like Jordan.

Jordan was faster, stronger, and a better leader and he found a way to beat double and triple teams.

So now when teams play LA, and LA is healthy like they are now, they decide to double Kobe or play him straight up. Not too many teams play great team defense nowadays.

One last thing to note, the last six teams Kobe has played and scored those points against all have losing records.

And March 27th, Kobe couldn't break 30 against a poor Grizzlie "box defense".

Jordan would always score big against defensive teams like the Knicks.

Jordan. Kobe is a spoiled whiny selfish crybaby who rapes women when he thinks he won't get caught.

Plus, he's ridiculously over-rated. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, Charles Barkley, Bill Russell, Pete Maravich and Oscar Robinson were ALL better than Kobe Bryant. I don't care what stats you bring up, he's not as good as any of them.

Is this a JOKE??

Jordan is the best player to ever live. I will never even use him in the same sentence as Kobe!

Jordan is better. To the poster of this question go ahead and pick njgenerales as the best answerer. He's been saying what I've been saying all along, with facts to back it up. That's the realist answer in this on going debate.
