It is a matter of opinion and each of the above players have their own strengths and weaknesses. My choice would be Saurav Ganguly, especially owing to the fact that he was the most successful Indian captain and is also the most in-form Indian batsman at the moment, inspite of being part of that ageing group of players who are presently being criticised and their retirements being demanded by the media and the fans (especially that of Sachin). The kind of oppressive grind that Saurav had to face after being dropped from the team, experts claiming that he had no more cricket left in him and declaring "Saurav Ganguly is history now!"; he has proved all his critics wrong by his remarkable comeback. I am at least delighted that he has mellowed down himself a lot (We all know how expressive and aggressive he can be, remember his celebration in the Natwest final against England?). Just check out his performance in the last 10 matches and compare them against those of Rahul and Sachin. The results should tell you why Saurav is better at the moment.
Saurav:
Last 10 matches: 509 runs, averaging 63.62 (batting), with 6 fifties and 2 wickets (bowling) averaging 32.50 (bowling).
Rahul:
Last 10 matches: 309 runs, averaging 44.14 with 4 fifties.
Sachin:
Last 10 matches: 310 runs, averaging 44.28 with 1 century and 3 fifities; Bowling: 6 wickets, averaging 39.16.

What is the point? If you are asking in the present tense, then Saurav is the best in terms of grit and confidence. In life and sport, when you face the acid test, it is the way you face the test, and Saurav has come out strongly.
As purely a batsman, Dravid is the best, if you consider both Tests and ODIs, but he lacks character. The way he, Sachin, Kumble, and Greg planned to throw Ganguly out, is a black spot in the history of the game. It was very sad seeing Ganguly stand alone in a Test, while others were standing in a group, when he made a brief come back ((to be left out again!) It is Mother Nature who came in between and told us yet again. 'JO AURON KE LIYE GADDHA KHODTA HAI KHUD USI MEIN GIR JATA HAI. Until these players and coach seek forgiveness, they will continue to have a guilty conscience which will not do them any good.

I live in US and a big Indian cricket fan. It was a huge disappointment see India not qualify for Super 8. At this stage it is natural to say all of them are losers and a better cricketer is who wins. Each have their advantages and disadvantages.
Sachin - Is great when it comes to statistics but rarely does well in a crunch situation. I think is he is past his prime and injuries took terrible toll on him and his game.
Saurav - is a real street brawler. Yes he is susceptible to bouncers and does not play well on bouncy pitches. But I think he has the balls to stand up to Steve Waugh and did not back down when confronted. We need more people like him. We Indians lack the killer instinct and he was a good captain. He is arrogant but that is what we need in Indian cricket.
Rahul - is a great cricketer but too nice a guy and does not have the Ganguly charisma.
So, over all as a captain and in a crunch situation - Saurav is my pick, Young sachin would be my pick in one dayers as an opener. Rahul when chips are down and need somebody to bat for couple of days. I guess I did not answer the question but you get my drift. It depends on the situation. Thanks

Saurav and Rahul are still good but Sachin is of no use.
.He is failing again and again and thus creating pressure on others.
Sachin Tendulkar Must Retire Will fully.

If one stick to the past records, Sachin is the best. However, if you go through the recent performance, I consider Dravid as the best.

All the three of them are in 30+ age group. What is the point in debating about it now? Do you intend to make the three of them run around pulling each other's legs wanting to know who's better or best?

sachin is still the best if he plays with the lighter bat he can still play for more than 3 years as his ageing i plead to him that use a lighter bat and by doing that he can still be the best bats men no one can reach him plese sachin use light bat to confront good quality bowlers
