Some people have been emotionally abused themselves so that's all they know,to be abusive themselves. Some people are just plain insensitive and don't care about others at all and some people have feelings of inferiority and try to re incompensate for those feelings by making others feel worse than they do.Some people wish they were dead and don't care about anything or anybody so they go out hurting others because nothing matters to them. Then there are the ones who are just plain mean or evil and deliberately want to hurt others because it makes them feel good to see someone in pain, pain that they caused. Then there are people who are mean because everybody else is doing it to a specific person or group of people and they feel no accountability what so ever because everybody else is doing it so it must be ok.What ever justification is involved it just isnt' right and there isn't any excuse good enough to hurt another person. If someone is abusive either leave and never go around them again or tell them to knock it off you are not going to stand for it.Respect yourself and protect yourself and the ones you love.Dont' let anyone put you down and make you feel bad about yourself.Constructive criticism is ok if done by someone well meaning and just wants to help. But insults and little jabs here and there are not well meaning and you should tell them to stop it.I get mad when this is done to me and make sure it isn't done again.Your a victem only if you allow yourself to be one.

Because they are emotionally hurting inside their own selfs. Of course they (the bullies...the emotional abusers) can't or won't admit it.
Those that behave that way step on others backs to elevate their own selfs. It's a sign of insecurity and emotionally hurting within their own selfs.

I really think that emotional abuse is a way for the abuser to control the other person and feel more powerful themselves. It's kind of sick really. People who have low self esteem and feel badly about themselves will often hurt others to feel better about themselves.

Yes hunny, your being abused. Tell a trusted adult about whats been going on. They can help you through your pains. If your into religion, pray to your God and ask for help. He'll help you too. Worst comes to worst, call 911. Men have NO right to treat ladies as your dad treats you.

Motive-themselves
Notice- yes other wise it wouldn't be intentional ^^
Why- to make themselves "feel" better about themselves. Seeing others suffer puts them in the place or though t of "hmm, maybe I'm not that bad off" kind of thought. It makes them feel secure to know that they have in less problems than others (or so they think) Or it can be for a mere fetish or something^^
Care- well they might, but one who cares for others, does not intentionally hurt them. >.^

It's definitely a control issue. To answer anothers question, we stay with them because we feel inadequate. I don't know if they care, haven't figured that out quite yet.

Motivation is usually self-centered...A person who abuses somebody else was probably once abused by somebody, maybe as a teen or as a kid...life is tough...I think that that person does not love his victim...if he did, he would not hurt that person...

some did not noticed it, coz their intelligence is juz born tat low. n some do it on purpose, it's becoz they either hate u n out to hurt u, or they juz dun have e maturity to tolerate and understand, they're not perfect as well. on e other side, e one on e receiving end, kind of juz proved it to them tat it doesnt really matter. so they juz happily continued this sort of treatment, while e victims juz continued to take it silently. it's going to b a vicious cycle that will spin u lower n lower, so dude. stand up for urself if pple say tat to u!

If you're hurting inside, you unconsciously tend to make others feel bad,,,like you're trying to share the hurt on a "Why should I have to be the only one who feels this way?" basis.

It's to exert control. The same reason why you see drill sergeants yelling & screaming at recruits in boot camp.
