Just continue with the pills in the correct order. It is normal to get spotting until your system gets adjusted to the levels of hormones as a replacement for your own. The packet should be numbered such that you know which one to take and when. The placebo (sugar) ones are always at the end of the packet to bring on a breakthrough bleeding. You are on day five so you have a long way to go. You won't spot like this once your system settles down. Just persevere. You could talk to a pharmacist if you are in doubt - not necessarily your doctor.

It can take a while to adjust to being on the pill continuously (skipping periods for medical reaons). When I first started out taking the pill this way I had problems with adjusting to continuous.

I would contact your dr to find out what to do now since you are having the breakthrough bleeding.

Its been awhile since i've had to take the pill but if i remember correctly you had to take it at the same time every day so that your periods won't be messed up. these things are not to be taken lightly and don't smoke. i didn't know this until i had a almost the problem as you and i told my friend and she ask me if i was taking it at the same time every day and i said i take when i remember. i started taking it in the morning and after about a wk or 2 everything was normal. i don't know it might work try it.
