It is hard to respect an 18-pound cat that sits around and does nothing but sleep, eat and make noise. However, she is one of the most lovable things you'll ever see. I don't know if she "respects" me, but she loves my family and the attention we give her. Take a look at the video below of my cat.

Yes I respect all 12 of our dogs, and every time that I go out into the bush I have at least three of them with me. and they protect me at all times.

Unfortunately, my dog (a Rottweiler) only wants me when |I've got food on the go. Otherwise she has selective deafness and totally ignores me!
I respect her and she treats me like a, well, a DOG.. >sniff<

This is a very odd question.
I adore my dogs and respect their place in my life and my household.
But respect them individually as dogs in their own right?
No, maybe not.
Duke is greedy and demanding (downright insistent actually).
Prince is grumpy, abrasive, nasty and a mean old dog (has been all his life). We just consider it part of his personality.
Do they respect me?
They shadow my every move, is that respect of just a lack of options? IDK.
But they are mine; have been all their lives, will be till their very last breath.

I respect both my dogs and yes they respect me as the alpha in the pack. Both lay down and submit when I command them to, just like I do when my sweetie commands me to. :) They don't listen to my sweetie, drives her nuts!

I have three cats, I respect them. My oldest one Chicklet who is 16 doesn't respect anything. If she had aposable thumbs me and my wife would have been dead long ago! lol
