Sounds like a yeast infection. If it's your first one ever, you are supposed to be checked by a physician to make sure.

Do not try to treat it yourself by buying over the counter stuff. You need to see a doctor in case it's something else.

Notify your boyfriend. Yeast infections can be sexually transmitted back and forth. You don't want to get rid of it and have him pass it back to you again. See? Complicated. So get to the doctor's office and be sure to tell them about your bf and all that.

Your doctor doesn't have to disclose that information to your mom or dad, okay? Doctor-patient confidentiality. It's just between you and the doctor.

Itching and cottage cheeselike discharge are symptoms of a yeast infection. Smell is a symptom of bacterial vaginosis.

I know that you hate going to the dr but this really needs to be evaluated by a dr before starting any kind of treatment because if you try to self treat thinking that it is yeast it may be something else going on.

All they will do is to take a culture from your vaginal secretion and send it off to the lab for analysis to find out if it is yeast as far as making sure although they will be able to tell on exam as well.

Let the dr know ahead of time that you are scared to be there but want to find out what could be causing this so that you can get some relief. If this is a really good dr they will make sure that you are comfortable with the experience by explaining everything that they do as they go along doing it.

My doctor told me years ago a teaspoon of baking soda in a quart of water and then douche with it. Sometimes pregnant women get this problem. I've always remembered this helps.
