depends on what kind of love you are talkin about. many americans have sacrificed their lives fighting for the country they love. but if you are talking about romantic love with another person then love is about sacrifice. if you don't believe so then you haven't been in a relationship for a long enough time. while the sacrifices may be worth it since you are in love there are still sacrifices you have to make in order for the relationship to work.

Love is about sharing and compassion. Sacrifice is not necessary for there to be love, and there are many reasons to sacrifice that have nothing to do with love.
So, while someone may choose to sacrifice themselves based on their love of someone else, the two concepts are not the same, and are largely independent of each other.
