Some Arabs pronounce G as J so u might hear it Jamila

its Gamil or Jamil if spoken to a boy...
Egyptians use G, most other arabs use J...
its also a very common girls name Jamilla or Gamilla.. here in the arabic world..
..so if someone called you "gamila" they meant you as beautiful
