Maybe it's just natural for her to be drawn more to the plight of blacks, seeing as she comes from a poor family herself.

Absolutely not! As an African American woman who was raised in poverty, of course she has a slight leaning towards supporting issues of poverty and race. That's perfectly normal. If you look at her show and the guests that she invites on, the majority are white. Of all the book club selections that she has helped make it to the top of the New York times bestseller's list, most have been white. The majority of her audience members are white. For anyone to say that she is more friendly to blacks, that's just plain ignorant. Certain rappers (Ludacris) are upset with Oprah because she bashed their misogynistic and violent lyrics. I say to Ludacris, "If you can't take a little criticism, then you're not the hardcore rapper you think your are." I'm tired of people bashing people for no reason and for finding fault where there is none. For all Oprah's faults (and we all have them) she has done so much good for the world, black, white, Asian, Spanish, etc.

That is definitely not true. I have a feeling that if she only cared for blacks, half of Harpo's staff would have walked out a long time ago, or they wouldn't have been hired to begin with. LOL As much as she loves John Travolta and Jay Leno, come on. LOL

People are always trying to start drama it would seem.

I think it's more accurate to say that Oprah cares for people in general.

Success and billions of dollars give a person the luxury of being racially tolerant. She'd be singing a different tune if she were still poor.

Wasn't it about a month ago when some rapper acused her of being a white woman? I think she cares about current issues and as foar as helping black women...? Being a black woman would probably be the hardest since people are bigoted against them because they are black and because they are women. I think Opra is just trying to help where she finds the greatest need.

No I have never thought about her being more for one race than another. I think she is a very compassionate individual who cares about many.
