India lost the very first round of the world cup to Bangladesh and Sri lanka.And though I admit Sri lanka is a very good team and Bangladesh, a growing one,India was the only strong contender from that group to actually win this years world cup!
I personally don't think it's the coach at all, nor is it the captain to blame .Instead I felt that India only lost due to lack of enough support from its players.'A captain is only as good as his players'.A coach only trains the players and lays out the right strategy in front of them.
There is absolutely no use blaming faults on the coach and captain when a majority of your players fail to score even 20-30 odd runs on the deciding day of the first round(for India, against Sri lanka).
It is indeed very sad as this team was hailed to be a better Indian team than the one last year,(which reached the semi-finals against Australia).Moreover the greats of the game from the Indian side will sooner or later have to retire, and their continuance in the game till the next world cup is highly unlikely.

When India lost a one day series in South Africa there was huge hue and cry at home by public and media and they even asked for sacking of Captain and Coach. Even this issue was raised in parliment. However, when India won the ODI series against West Indies and Sri Lanka, the same media and people praised Indian team lavishly and claimed that India will win the world cup, which was too much to expect from a team which is not at all within 3 top teams in the world.
Having expected to win the world cup, when the team was knocked out at the group stage itself due to pathetic performance by batsmen and bowlers, all the people and media which expected India to win the world cup were completely upset.

because they expect too much from an average team.
india was so complacent and maybe look down at other team. other smaller team like ireland, bangladesh, netherland, zimbabwe are motivated to beat the big guns.
india people idolize these players and treat them like superstar. the government & private companies gave them lots of money, so indian fan expect these people to give back something to them..i.e. by winning the world cup and the rights to brag to their neighbour, at least. unfortunately, that didnt happen.
instead, they lost to their less 'popular' neighbour, i.e. sri lanka & bangladesh which really hurt their pride!
and i can't imagine if they lose to their 'nemesis' - pakistan???
...so start to admit that india is not 'invincible'...no teams are. and start to accept that india cricket team can be beaten because win & lose is part of the game.
and the best thing to do now is...forget it. give it a rest. start looking for talented new players that can be absorbed into the future indian team.

I actually don't think that india is a good team.it is indian media who puts them in a higher place.they showed indian team as favourite world cup contender after australia.but we know & whole world know about indian team.we are also know that they are good only in home soil.know one can neglect that.so it is no wonder why india eliminated from world cup's first round matches.they can't even beat a bangladesh.because bangladesh is a better team than a indian team.when you talking about sri lanka they are much superior side than damn indian side.

INDIA FAILED TO MAKE TO THE NEXT STAGE BECAUSE THEY NEVER OUTCOME FROM THE DEFEAT OF TH FIRST MATCH AND THEY MADE A GREATEST MISTAKE BY SENDING SACHIN LOWER DOWN THE ORDER,FURTHER THE BOWLING DEPARTMENT LACKED SOME FIRE POWER.THE COACH WAS NOT DOING THE RIGHT THINGS TO HIS TEAM.
