Worst idea ever!!! Why add staged wrestling into a sport that is doing just fine. The positions and jersey # are determined by the NFL. For example, Running Backs and Fullbacks generally wear numbers 20-49 with a few exceptions. Reggie Bush attempted to try and see if the NFL would let him wear #5, the number he wore in college. He was rejected because the #5 is generally worn by Quarterbacks, Kickers, and Punters, so instead he went with #25. Older time football didn't matter what the numbers were, since a good portion of players played both offence and defence. That was when football was getting started though.

Well let's see...
Offense:
Orton would be a tight end because he's tall and has some ups and would probably wear something like 11.
London and Kendrick would either be receivers or DBs.
Cena would be a linebacker (55) or a hard-nosed Strong Safety (let's go with 25).
Jimmy Wang Yang would be a receiver, wearing a number of a famous red neck (quick, who's a famous red neck that plays football).
Gregory Helms would have the Ego to play receiver but would be plastered to the bench because he really wasn't that good.
Mark Henry would anchor the o-line with Kane, Ron Simmons, a healthy JBL, and Viscera.
At running back, you'd have a tandem of JTG and Edge (he's elusive, he'd do fine). Their fullbacks would be Finlay.
At quarterback, wearing number 15, the Undertaker (it's perfect; a defensive player would run in, he'd look it them and they would run away in fear).
Defense:
Bobby Lashley would be a DE. Next to him you would have Umaga and Dave Taylor at DT and Batista at the other end.
Cena would be a linebacker (55) or a hard-nosed Strong Safety (let's go with 25). Others backing the line would be Triple H and Tommy Dreamer.
If London and Kendrick aren't DB's, then the corner's would be the Hardys. At the strong would be Benjamin and at the free would be HBK.
Special Teams:
Kicker would be Rey Mysterio and the punter would be RVD.
The return men would be Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki.
Rock would be coaching.

You answered your own question...It would be another XFL...There would be no reason to think it would be any different...and if you're suggesting that wrestlers mix in with NFL players, the NFL would laugh the WWE off the field...

If any of the wrestlers could play in the NFL they would be - but they don't have the talent so they aren't.
