Shane Bond
A fully-fit Shane Bond is a lethal attacking bowling option for any side but unfortunately his career has been blighted through injury and persistent back problems.
On his day he is one of the quickest bowlers in the world, blessed with a searing yorker he burst onto the international scene on tour in Australia in 2002.
He was the quickest Kiwi to take 50 one-day international wickets including best figures of 6-22 in the 2003 World Cup against Australia.
He was forced to drop out of all cricket in May 2003 due to stress-fractures in his back and feet and missed out on a contract with Warwickshire as a consequence although he had guested for the side previously.
Toured England in 2004, but flew home during the second Test after failing to recover from his back injury.
He made a promising return on the 2005 tour to Zimbabwe and signed for Gloucestershire for the 2006 season.
He was forced to pull out of his contract with Gloucs after a knee injury flared-up while on tour in South Africa with New Zealand.
In 2007 he was named as part of the 14-man squad to play Australia and England in the Commonwealth Bank Series.
