I got vista recently (upgraded from xp) and it was working fine but then i got a virus(my fault) and so i tried to fix it myself but i think i deleted some vital program or something and not my explorer does not work, it always says, windows explorer has stopped working and then it says explorer is restarting, then explorer quits and starts again, and it does this repeatedly. Its frustrating cuz i had to end the process and now i work without it and its hard. Does anyone know how i can fix this? Ive tried restore, last good configuration, both didn't work, i'm thinking of reinstalling my vista but if anyone has any better ideas i would love to hear them. Thx.

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and select 'Start Task Manager'
Go to 'File' and choose 'New Task (Run...)'
Click the 'Browse' button.
Navigate to C:\Windows\system32
Find the program 'cmd'
Right-click and select 'Run as Administrator'
If the UAC is enabled, click 'Continue'
At the command prompt, type the following:
sfc /scannow
Allow the scan to run, it may take some time.
Once it's finished, reboot the system.
Try again.

Good luck.
