Go to the Pet Department at WalMart, and get a bottle of "Pet Stain and Odor" Spray. Wash out as much of the stain as you can, then wet thoroughly with the "Pet" spray, let dry and Enjoy the fresh air!!!!

There is a carpet/spot cleaner called Folex. You can purchase it from the dollor store or find it in the cleaning isle. It works on anything I have ever tried to remove and the awesome part about it is that it works clear down to the carpet pad so the stain does not come back!

I actually closed my trunk on a gallon of milk so I know exactly what you are talking about---very bad odor! It doesn't matter what you clean it with as long as it is rinsed well. I cleaned mine with a solution of white vinegar and HOT water in my steam cleaner and just continued to rinse it until the milk was gone. Then I let it air dry.
Good Luck!

After you clean it with soapy water as well as you can, let it dry completely. The bacteria causing the smell will only live until they dry out. After that you might also try that Febreze spray. I did this when a toilet overflowed onto carpeting, and the smell finally went away.

ok i have 7 kids that always eat cereal in my car and spilt it every where this may seem gross but my friend said to use honey, water, and baking powder. it truly works really easy to get it out of the carpet and it smells fresh. i dont know how it works but it is awesome!

Hydrogen peroxide also works, but will cause the carpet to fade.

You can either have it steam cleaned professionally, or rent a machine and do it yourself.
