Yes. You can use a file encryption program on the data before you burn the disk. All anyone will see on the disk is garbled nonsense. You would have to copy the files to your hard drive and decrypt them to use or view them.
Personally, I use a program called "Blowfish Advanced CS". Its a file encryption program that intergrates into your shell. All you do is right click a file or folder, choose blowfish from the shell, and hit "encrypt" or "decrypt" and enter your password or passphrase. Its a VERY secure way to protect personal data.
