Has anyone had American Accent Training online? Do you think its beneficial & effective?

I had never thought about such a thing online, so sorry I can't really answer your question, but my guess would be that it would be just about as effective as any other kind of language training. Maybe more so if you are just trying to "smooth out" say a British taught English.

When Americans listen to a very neutral British speaker, like say from a news reporter, about the only thing that really says "British" is the words chosen, but there are a few that stand out to me like Beta, which Americans say completely differently.

Having done accent reduction training with foreign clientele, I can tell you that listening to TV and radio, then imitating the speaker will do a lot for developing the accent you want. Also, you can practice by reading aloud with your fingers in your ears; it will allow you to hear yourself and make any corrections.

Do American's have accents? I've always wondered if we sounded wierd to other countries. Hmmm good luck with that.
