First off, he lost the game, and yes HE lost the game. BALL HOG!!! Anyone in the NBA can make game tying shots. He was taking shots double teamed in OT, and you know what that means- someones open!!He needs to prove that he can be a team player. You never hear about those four other guys on the floor with Kobe. MJ was a team player who wanted to win more that anyone who's ever played the game, he didn't take shots double teamed!! He would pass to the open man. Kobe will never be better than MJ.

Kobe is so amazing! He looks like MJ way back then in the mid-90s.
But in a serious note... Kobe is just an excellent shooter. He is not better... I repeat NOT better then MJ. If Kobe would be the assists leader in the next season (just like what MJ did when he was told that he was a ballhog. MJ went out to be the assist leader in one of his best seasons)... I would look to see that Kobe would be better than MJ. But thats so unlikely since Kobe doesn't really pass the ball that much only averages 6 or 7 assists. And Kobe has to be MVP to show he is better than MJ.
But Kobe dos not have to prove anything. He does not have to live up to Jordan because Jordan was one of the best all-around players in history and I think Kobe should just live up to Chamberlain's 100 point performance. Kobe can do that! But Kobe being better than Jordan? That's not going to happen.

Why do you think that Kobe has to prove to anybody that he is better than MJ? Can't accept the fact that both players are/were great? You really can NOT compare the two because the players that played with and against MJ are no longer playing or are very far past their prime.
Let it go. Let it go.

If he wants to prove that he has to follow 3 simple steps:
1) Play defense (Jordan was a defensive player of the year)
2) Lead his team is Scoring and Assist ( Jordan is the Bulls All time Scoring and Assist Leader)
3)Still be able to score that 45 points when he is 40

He also fouled TMac as he was shooting a 3pointer. TMac made all 3 free throws btw. He's got 53 points but unless something drastic happens it's going to be 53 points in a losing effort. I'm not hating on Kobe just stating a fact.

I know. I just wish the NBA and refs would just get off his back. That was so a moving pick on Yao! If that was Nash or Dirk, they would have called it. That is the only reason the Lakers lost, like always, the refs. Kobe is the best, win or lose, he is the top scorer two years in a row and nobody is putting him in the MVP category???
!!!Those people are PUNKS!!!

Not really did you see the end fouling McGrady on a three and travelling to lose the game pure sign that he is better then MJ! Not! Such a ballhog.

Jordan made his fame in the playoffs when everything was on the line, as I remember, Kobe quit on his team in Game 7 last year against Phoenix.
Regular season, you make your name, playoffs, you make your fame.
Jordan, 6 Championships, 6 Finals MVPs
Kobe, 3 Championships, 0 Finals MVPs

If I recall, MJ was a ball hog as well, early on in his career. Also leaded the league in scoring 10 times. Ball hog much?
