From what I have read, the Spartan people stubbornly refused to be a part of Grecian society.

Alexander never really liked the Spartans but was wary enough to have negotiations instead of try to fight them.

This is a 2 part question. First, when Alexander organized the Greeks to join his army, the Spartans refused to go. Since they were militarily irrelevant by that time in history, he did not mind. Second, of course they were part of Grecian society. They were Greeks living in Greece. I have no idea what you mean by saying that they were not.

It's funny when I use to look at maps of Alexanders' empire it would show his empire from Greece to India with this little tiny piece at the bottom of Greece out of his control. I guess that was Sparta.

Many Greeks participate in Macedonian flanx as a mercenaries. Same in the Persian army, they fought for money.Macedonians fought for glory (Slava).
