Enough shoe jokes already! I'm as liberal as anyone about a woman president, but I don't want it to be Hillary. I'd rather have Geena Davis--didn't she make a great president on that TV show, COMMANDER IN CHIEF?

I don't think Hilary (not only because she is a woman) nor Obama (because he lacks experience) have anything all wrapped up. I am hoping for a dark horse from either party. But right now things look pretty bad. What author said that "every cloud has a silver lining" and "its darkest just before the dawn." Probably Poor Richards Almanic by Benjamin Franklin. My Grandmother had a calander with a quote for every day of the week. She must have memorized them all. Maybe we need to implement a new calander with inspirational sayings all over it, now we can't use the word God in public and the Pledge of Allegiance is out.

I didn't read all your additional stuff. But let's address the question:
Regardless of VERY commonly held MISCONCEPTION, Democrats and Republics don't elect shoe shine boys in national elections today, Independents do.
And Hillary does not poll well with Independents. Barrak does better, but not good enough.
Only a candidate electable will get the nod. And to be electable in today's political climate, a candidate must be moderate. They can be slightly left, or slightly right, of center. But they can't be far either way.
It won't be Clinton at this juncture. The Democrats want to actually WIN.
The Republicans have a good chance with either Giuliani or McCain (getting the Primary nod for their party), as they are both seen as moderates. Giuliani's pro-abortion, in example.
Now that doesn't mean Republicans will be thrilled with either. But, in the end, those in the "know" know only a moderate can win right now, from either party.
It's those damn fickle Independents who control that necessary 10% swing vote.
And not that he has a shot in hell (he's not running, of course), but I'd vote for Lieberman. Now there's a guy who thinks for himself.

you have faith in american political futures by a guy named havana joe? you know cuba does not like america much.either one is fine by me, because niether is electable. there are many ignorant people that elected hillary to her current position in a state she never lived in( she does know where the sheep are),lucky for her, she wouldn't dare go back to arkansas.too many screwed over, ripped off past financers.whitewater/swampland/ripoff. both are too far off center to get the intelligent electoral college vote. you do know thats what counts, right. every democrat in the running has something wrong that will keep them out of the oval office. too bad leiberman is out, hes a good man.im not anti=semetic , but the usa is not readt for a jewish president either. thank god or founding fathers were smart enough to not let this country be a democracy, or as they referred to it as mob rules.

Hillary has the dirt on nearly everybody important in the government. Her gathering of the "900 FBI files" kept Bill's critics at bay, and her campaign will sail on, for the same reason: blackmail.
Even if she's missing a file or two, nobody knows for sure whose she's missing -- and if she doesn't have yours, maybe she has your boss's. And if she has files on your associates, she can construct yours pretty easily.
She is power-hungry, ruthless, and smart. And she's armed. Don't underestimate what such a person would do to get the power she craves.

'braxton' - You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Your juvenile reaction giving any credence(and totally out of context and not funny at all) to N. Korea is pathetic.
State your political whims in a manner more suitable to your standing in Y!A as a 'top contributor'.
Maybe you should stick to your 'calling' - astronomy and space, because on this one, there is a lot of 'space' between your ears!! To reside in a 'free society' such as yours and to bandy about such 'drivel' is tantamount to 'tr****n'! N. Korean war bonds. Quite inventive, if Rodney Dangerfield(rest his soul) had said it but HE GOT PAID TO BE AN IDIOT!!

Please don't talk like this, it's been such a beautiful day. I just had a very scary thought, Hillary is the pres. and Rosie is the V.P. What a horrible thing to think. I'm sorry, next time I'll keep it to my self.

I like Hillary, but she is too "bitchy" for most people's taste.
Obama is a very, very good candidate also. I will vote for either.
Too bad more people don't pay attention to Bill Richardson.
