i recently bought a used ipod video from my friend's brother and i don't know the generation. does anyone know how to tell the difference? its a 60G ipod video

Since it's a 60GB model, that pegs it as the original G5 Video (80GB would identify it as the updated G5.5 Video). With a 30GB model, the simplest way to identify it is to check for a Search function. If it has one, it's G5.5. If it doesn't, it's G5.

It's a fifth generation iPod. The fifth generation iPod is the newest so far, and it is the only iPod that has the video feature.
