Hello everyone. Updates on Dell computers.

Most people, especially those who don't have good credit, or don't even have credit, complain about Dell products. Note that you MUST have good credit to purchase Dell products.

My Dell battery has died after 3 years of use. Imagine that, 3 years! Enough said. Great job.

Have you ever heard of keyboard silence? Well, Dell is the only computer maker to discover Keyboard silence. The Dell XPS system comes with an unique keyboard, allowing users to type without the disturbance of keyboard noise. Best ever!

Media direct: This feature allows you to play DVD and Music without booting up windows! Save lots of battery power.
The Dell XPS allows up to 8 hours of battery life!!! Yes, 2 duo processors and up to 2.30ghz

Those who rather not to be Dell customers are missing a lot in today's newest technology. Sony, HP, Panasonic, Toshiba, Comaq, Acer, Mac, Voodoo, etc, don't have the features Dell has.

Customer service. You can either call Dell via the phone, or better yet, contact them via Live chat over the Internet on their official Dell.com site.

Below is my conversation with a Dell rep:

Dell Rep: How may I help you today?

Me: My computer screen won’t turn on.

Dell rep: I am sorry to know this. May I have your home address and phone number to update your account?

Me: Sure.

Dell rep: Thank you for the information. Well, we’re going to take one step at a time. Let me know when you are ready.

We performed 3 minutes of diagnoses, but the problem was not corrected.

Dell Rep: It appears that your system is detective. Please allow me to set up a repair for you.

Me: Thank you.

Dell Rep: You are most welcome.

Now, what is so bad about such customer service? How much more respectful and convenient Dell’s customer service can get?

Dell Rep: We will ship you a box within a day or two, and your system will be repaired and returned to you within 3 days.

In fact, the computer did return to me after 3 days and was in excellent condition.

My question is: Why do you people degrade Dell customer service? And why do you try to learn their accent just as how they learned yours?

i agree with you on some points. i also have a dell. customer service is lousy, most of the time you reach someone who can not speak english and they have to look everything up in the manuel. the silent keyboard was silent for about 2 years, slowly it became louder and louder. other than that, i agree with you and my next computer will still be a dell. this is the usa, they can learn to speak better english, if i went to their country it would be expected of me.

I have a Dell laptop and love it. It is old and still runs Windows 2000 pro. But it have never given me any trouble other than the battery dying. I will be replacing it this year and have check other computers. For the money Dell has everthing I could possibly need or want in a computer.
Now I would never buy a printer from Dell but that is another story.

See, you only get these questions from people who know nothing about how computers (or anything else for that matter) are manufactured. Real quick rundown. Ready?
Dell needs to put a pc in market to meet X need for X market segment. Dell gets all of it's parts from parts vendors (no dell doesn't have any chip fab plants nor do they make circuit boards). So dell says to its vendors "We need part A, B, C, and D to meet the following specs:". Parts vendors then bid on the contract to supply the parts. Dell CERTAINLY doesn't pick the most expensive parts to deliver you the best quality. That idea just makes me laugh out loud! In fact, I just did! What you end up getting with ANY oem pc maker (Dell included) is the sum total of the cheapest crap they can get their suppliers to sell them. When I build a computer for myself, the absolute LAST thing I do is look around for the cheapest garbage I can find to do the job. I buy parts that meet the specific need at the best level of quality I can afford.
So for anybody to even ask, why do people say Dell pc's suck, doesn't really know much about what they're asking. If they did, the question would self-answer.

I returned my Dell the same week I got it due to incompetence and lousy tech support. Since then I build my PC's. You should try something other then a Dell someday, you will realize what YOU RE missing and how much they actually suck..

Uhhh....That's great to know....Thanks for the heads up.
Dell PCs are great and really up to date but my only complaint is the upgrading part. You cannot really upgrade too much without having to purchase Dell parts and not all Dell parts are fun to replace. Third-party parts are almost incompatible with Dell PCs, but hey no-body's perfect.

Any one with a brain can tell this is a ad for deal. Honestly its not that dells are bad there just overpriced. Gateway's e-machines are better priced.

i hope dell paid you for this. I'd never buy a dell, they use cheap parts that don't last. Get an Alienware, HP, or ABS, way better than any dell pos. stay in school.
