Is a 1550 score on the SAT good enough?

If you have to ask this question, then you certainly didn't score a 1550 on your SAT. It ain't rocket science to figure out if the score is good enough.

To Previous Answerers: The College Board has added a writing section, which gives the new SAT a new perfect score of 2400, so this person is 850 points from a perfect score.

To Questioner: This score would be considered around "average," and it won't get you into too many prestigious colleges...however, it may get you into a decent state school, pending your GPA. However, if I were you, I'd study up and take it again. I know that the 4 hours of testing is rather tedious, but it's worth it in the long run. Try to improve your score by 150-200 points! That will give you a much better shot at your desired college.

I've heard that 1300 is an average score, so yes, 1550 should be good enough.

Since 1600 is the max, it should be good enough to go to any college in the U.S. as long as your GPA is acceptable, above a 3.0
