The black and white were much better. The last 3 seasons of the show kind of sucked. With Howard, Emmet, Floyd the barber. And mostly Opie.

When they switched to color, the also changed a bunch of characters and it just wasn't the same. It's hard to say if Andy Griffith jumped the shark when Barney left or when it went to color. But B&W was the best era for that show.

Black and White. And the little whistle tune is my ring tone. My brother can whistle the song, and it sounds exactly the same.
