There's tons. But you have to know where to look. Start Somewhere with a large selection: Borders, Books-a-Million, Barnes and Noble, anywhere. Then paruse the sections that look interesting. Pick up a particular book that looks interesting and read the description. If the sales associate comes up and asks if you would like help, don't refuse. Chances are they are someone who reads a lot and will know what you might be looking for and reccomend it.
Or you could ask friends to reccomend something too. Pick your favorite author and read a variety of their work if they have a variety, and then pick similar authors and read their work. Choose from a variety of topics like Romance, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, etc. I can reccomend you some good books.
Fantasy:
Harry Potter- JK Rowling
Inheritance Trilogy- Christopher Paolini
Chronicles of Narnia- CS Lewis
Prophecy of the Stones
Young Adult:
The Clique Series- Lisi Harrison
Alice Series- Phylis Reynolds-Naylor
Hanging onto Max- Margaret Brechard
Just Like Ice Cream
Anything by Meg Cabot
Romance:
Anything by Nicholas Sparks (the Notebook, A Walk to Remember)
Historical Fiction:
Anything by Anne Rinaldi
Jane Austen and Charles Dickens are also classic picks. Mark Twaine as well.
Hope this helped!

How old are you? What do you like to read about? What are your interests? If knew a little more about you, I think that I could recommend some good books for you. One of the last great books that I've read recently was Shantaram, by Gregory Alan Roberts. It's about Bombay and an Australian guy on the run. Right now, I am reading a book titled Signal to Noise. It is hard cyberpunk out of the late 1990s. It's an absorbing scifi story about spies and technology.

Some good reads are: To Kill a Mockingbird, Tex (by S.E. Hinton), Eragon, Julius Caesar, Hamlet, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, And Then There Were None (by Agatha Christie), Gone with the Wind, Cannery Row, and Fahrenheit 451.
There are many others but these are some good joy reads. This is not just my personal opinion, many people in my eighth grade class have read these too. I hope you find a good one.
Best wishes,
Katie

"An Army at Dawn" Rick Atkinsan
" Eagle against the Sun" Ronald Spector all about the war in the Pacific or "Sea of Thunder" Evan Thomas.
One last recommendation about the war on the Eastern Front

Go to Amazon.com and search
"Lost from Atlantis Book 1" - It's a historical fantasy. Book 2 is coming out in the next month or two, and 3 is already written and in editing.
"Death by Murder David Lindsay" - you have to search that way for it to come up. There's a lot of sex and violence in it but it's good, not gratuitous.
and "Super Spaghetti."
They're free on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited, and you can Google how to get a free trial of that. And you can get a free Kindle app for your phone or just read them online.

If you like anything about Texas History then "True Women" by Janice Woods Windle is a great read. It starts off kinda slow but it gets relly great. It really gives you a sense of adventure and its great because all the main characters are women.
oh and the author traced back her family tree and the book is the story of all the women in her family so it is based off as much fact as she could find

When a customer asks me this, the first thing I ask them is, "What kind of topics or genres do you enjoy?" I can recommend lots if I know what type of books you prefer.
** Try "Alicia: My Story" by Alicia Appleman Jurman (non-fiction account of the holocaust), "Memoirs of a Geisha", by Arthur Golden, "Hiroshima Diary" by Michihiko Hachiya

Try the book " The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant. It is about women in bible times and their duties, also how they cope with things like sex, childbirth and other women issues. I recommend all women to read it.
