The first 5 games will tell all. KC usually starts out losing everything and then they tense up. Toward the last part of the year when they have nothing on the line they are almost unbeatable (almost) and score a lot of runs. If the bullpen is more secure with Dotel and they start out on a winning streak they could surprise a lot of teams. They have a lot of younger players who don't know they are supposed to lose every game so they may try to win a few. There is no doubt they have been able to score runs, mostly just to stay in the game, and if the pitching is only 30% better than last year it could equal 20 or 30 games difference. Besides that, the White Sox rotation sucks at best and it's just a matter of time before those wheels come off. Ozzie should keep his mouth shut about Leyland and worry about how he is going to manage a team with a crappy pitching staff.

KC can do it, sure. They need Gordon to have a big year as a rookie. He cannot come out the gate hitting .181 with 8 errors. He needs a solid .280, 13 jacks, 40 rbi at the break. But really, the key is Mark Grudzielanek. Grud, as you know, was an all-star in 1996 for the Montreal Expos. He's back on the upswing at this point in the career given his excellent year last year. Batted .297 and won the gold glove, that's a great offense-defense combo. Look for .315, 8 jacks, 60 rbi, 38 doubles, and a 2nd gold glove. KC for 3rd place this year behind D-town and Minn.

I'll go out on a limb here, but KC has a lot of great young talent, with another superstar named Billy Butler on the way. The question will be the pitching:if that shakes out well, the Royals are a good ball club. Meche is their de facto #1, but Greinke has been lights out this spring, and Luke Hudson has good stuff. Add a healthy Dotel as your closer, and you're looking at a young, but very talented ball club. They could surpass the Twins, but I'm not sure about the other clubs. Its hard to peg such a young team.

Georgie Porgie you're this way of White Sox hater and characteristic little respect for everybody except your loved Tigers who choked in very last years sequence vs the playing cards who thumped their fannies to assert the least. also sir your Tigers have not gained a identify on the grounds that 80 4 and the White Sox gained merely many years in the past so what precisely are you on your soapbox about on the instant except preaching to the choir? at the same time as the Tigers win a identify back then you are able to communicate the communicate yet sir you ought to first walk the walk.

Exactly the kind of talk I expect from a Detroit puke. Let me put you in your place real quick.
1. White Sox will own Detroit this year
2. Tigers will never win a world series
3. Detroit is the worst city in America
4. You should be grateful to the people in Chicago since we have jobs and we pay federal taxes to support the welfare checks that you people in Detroit get since there are no jobs there.
5. Your city sucks so bad that GM, Ford, and Crystler are packing up and shipping out.
6. White Sox season tickets are worth more than Detroit real estate.
Thank you for giving me 2 free points but don't come back until Detroit can build itself into a respectable city, if ever.

Yes they do. People can only be kicked around for so long before the overwhelming urge to win overcomes everything that has been holding them down. Not many people besides me are giving thema chance to crawl out of the cellar, BUT I HAVE A DREAM... and it is to see the Royals in the post season. Won't happen this year, but they'll start to climb ladder.
GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!

Yahoo! Sports predicts that the Royals will lose about 95 games this season and rightfully so. Chicago has its power but they're questionable. The Twins have pitching wooes and the sorry Royals couldn't contend if they were a single-A club. I see the Cleveland Indians at #1, the Twins at #2 and the White Sox at #3. But that's my prediction.

I would love to see KC finish anywhere but last. That was a good baseball team at one time long long ago.

First off, thanks for calling me "nobody".
All preseason long, until karma caught up to Kenny Rogers, I had predicted the White Sox to finish third, behind the Tigers and Twins. Now I'm predicting them to finish second, behind only the Twins.
Karma will also contribute to the Indians finishing ahead of the Tigers.
