Well i wouldn't give pepper to an 8 month old just because they may find it really strong and be turned off the food all together. Hold off till At Least 1 [2 is better] before adding anything to their foods. They like it bland!

in my experience babies love tasty food! So yes i would feed them a bit, but nothing as strong as a peppered steak would be!
There is a tendancy to feed kids food very different to what the parents eat, this is silly because then later you will have a problem getting them ot eat the same as you. So i owuld say if you can puree your food do! i used to make my own baby food, and the babies ate what we did! My kids are now 13, 10 and 5 and will eat huge varieties of things other kids their ages wont! they like thir veg, foreign foods, my 5 year old asked for chilli for his birthday recently1 so you see it works! Cant start too young!
good luck!

yes. i am of the belief that feeding a baby bland food will cause them to have a limited diet as they grow.
i have three children and fed the oldest two a bland diet as babies. to this day, they don't like many spices at all. my youngest, who is only 23 months old, has been eating garlic, onions and black pepper since she was about 7 or 8 months old. i do agree that spices can be hard on a baby's tummy, so only introduce one spice at a time until you know what your baby's tummy can handle. my littlest one couldn't handle cows' milk until she was about 13 months old. there was one other food or spice she couldn't eat, and it was easy to tell what that was because of introducing foods and spices one at a time. by introducing things one at a time, you will always know what is causing the upset tummy.

Yes but i wouldn't put to much in it.
When cooking don't add salt or pepper to your bubs food as natural is better but a little bit of grounded pepper isn't going to hurt

when my son was 8 months we took him to an indian resteraunt and he had a curry. So, I'm pretty sure they can handle a little bit of black pepper.

When my daughter was a baby she used to cry for curry when i made it. She used to eat the curry from my plate. So black pepper should not be a problem. I would go easy with spicies.

anything spiced up isn't a good idea, but a little bit won't hurt. my daughter is a tank and always was, so I really didn't have to worry about much when it comes to food, but every baby is different. Spiced food is hard on their belly.

It could keep him up at night, make his tummy hurt, give him indigestion. Their tummy's are sensitive. I would wait a bit. I was a breast fed Mom and watched everything I ate, and my kids slept thru the night after 3 days from the second one to 3 weeks. I had four. Please be careful right thru the first yr. if ya want no problems and want to sleep.
