I graduated from an overseas university some years back with a degree of Computer Science.
When I came back to my home country, the job market was bad for graduates in Computer Science. I was actually unemployed for a while as I could not secure jobs relating to IT. For me, I was adamant to establish myself in IT. I intended to get a job in IT so that I could be more proficient in IT. I was hoping to establish myself as an administrator or a programmer or an engineer.
However, as I could not even get an IT job relating to my degree, I was even willing to start low, as a technician in an IT field. I could do that as I know how to do some troubleshooting of spoilt computers and the operating systems. I even know how to assemble a computer.

I was also not willing to do any other job as I do not want to become someone not related to IT. I was also not in need of money. I was really insistent in establing myself in IT. As I could not get an IT job, I even considered taking up short IT courses to give me more knowledge on IT.
However, tried as I might, I still cannot get an IT job.

It was also at this time my aunt started to loose her sight due to old age. Within the last few years, she lost her sight considerably. My mom feared my aunt will loose her sight eventually. As I was not close to my aunt and she is not staying with us, I was not aware of her plight. However, when my mom told us her fears, I decided to take my aunt to see the doctor and make arrangements to have her eyes examined. I sort of know the procedure to do this sort of thing. The doctor subsequently found out my aunt has cataract in her eyes and made arrangements to have them removed. He also managed to get a new cornea for my aunt's eyes and her sight was restored. I also made arrangements with the eye hospital to ward my aunt for further observation to examine the progress of the operation. Everything went well and my aunt was discharged with her eyes fully restored.

It was at this time the job agency managed to get a job for me as a telecommunications call center operator. That was the best they could find. The job agent also told me this would be a good start for graduates in IT. As a call center operator, my job was to receive complaints from big companies about problems they might find with their telephne lines and forward them to the telco techinicians for them to troubleshoot. The telephone lines included international lines. My mom was very happy for me as it seemed to be a god job. She even told me IT WAS A REWARD FROM GOD as I had helped my aunt to get her eyes healed.

However, while this job might seem to be good, I was not happy before long. This was because I didn't really learn much from this job. All I did was to forward complaints to the technicians to resolve them. I also felt it wasted my time as I am not really doing what I wanted. Before long, more than a year past and I found myself stuck to this job. Some companies I went to for job interviews even said I was not established in IT and I had passed the time to get an IT job as an administrator or an engineer. They said I should try to get an IT job as soon as I had graduated from the university.

A few years later, we visited a relative during a festive season where I told her about the problem I had in trying to seek a good job in IT. She then remarked why I had not approached a cousin of ours who owns an IT firm. We were all very surprised this cousin was operating an IT company. This cousin of ours was a close cousin of ours and our aunt. Had we knew earlier he was running an IT company, we would most certainly approached him to ask him for help and he would most probably helped me.
The question I want to ask is, did God really helped me when I secured a job in the call center? It was a job that was not really related to IT that I needed. Other employers also told me I should have get an IT job as soon as possible to establish myself. No one was willing to employ me subsequently. I not only didn't get the job I needed, I also wasted my time as I could have used the time to take up more courses to reinforce myself in IT.

I mean, was my mom right? Did God help me?
If God had helped me, he would have let me know my cousin was operating an IT firm and he could get a job for me in his company. I would not need to work in the call center. I was really desperate to get a job in IT. That is why I feel so frustrated.

That was less a question more a dissertation, I will be honest, I did not read beyond the words " Computer science" and since the question was, in essence, the first five words, I read more than I had to! The answer is "No". I will say no more than that because through bitter experience I have learned that to say anything negative when God or religion is the subject, means sensitive souls are upset, and violations are dished out.

What I would be asking myself (hyperthetically)is 'how many footpaths are there to my front door?'
The answer is ONLY ONE PATH!
How many different beleifs regarding a God are there?
Therefore how can I be sure that MY God, is the so called 'REAL' God?
Only you can answer your question.... I feel.
As it is your beleifs that count for you, and not mine!
Be Happy, don't worry about it...As eventually you will know if you were with the 'real God'
When in many, many years from now, you get to a lovely place, known by some, as 'Heaven'.

Nope! Your mother was NOT right! Just a series of random occurences, that's all. For instance, my grandmothers first husband was combing his hair, nicked a wart, and died the next day of blood-poisoning. A year later she maried my grandfather and that's how I got here! It never occurred to me to thank 'god' for being born. That's just plain silly! People who have religion are notorious for giving god the credit for everything good that happens, while conveniently forgetting all the bad stuff! Get used to it, there is no such thing as god. You got lucky! There are millions of folks who didn't get lucky.

Wow that's an amazing story! I suppose if you hadn't of helped your Aunt to the extent that you did you wouldn't have found out about your cousin and his company! Fair play to you for helping her and I think that you have been rewarded for the good that you did!

If he helped you, then you must be angelically good and so marvelously fabulous in so many ways, because he seems to be ignoring a lot of other people in the world who are far worse off than you and have bigger problems than getting a job in computer science. Do you think that you are in some way better than these people? Or is it their lack of faith which one couldn't reasonably blame them for.
Or it might be because you have a great deal of faith, so much, in fact, that you have to ask this question.

God works in mysterious ways and nothing happens by accident. There is a reason for everything, and God opens doors and closes doors so that His will might be done. Yes, I do believe God helped you and guided you. Ask and believe and you will receive.

Errr guyz if theres no god then who creat universe...????
Things cannot created by themselve
e.g = every technology is created by human it cannot be made up by itselve.
if god creat human then who creat god???
well thats way above our human knowledge....god is there by himself there will be no starting point of life and dead of a god.
God is not like every single thing on earth, god did not been born and will not born others...he creat something and is not a producer by himselve..
the point is for aties(non-god believer) God does exist, eventhough u cant see god and theres no true scietifical evidence about god.
And one more thing how come u belive in satan and ghost if u dindt see it by ur own eyes..............
So dun ever stop believing god....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sorry that was my point of view on god. Now about ur question...
Well, remember that ur not only the one who had gain this problem.....even my brother get this problem also but he did use his mind to save some of his sallary (sorce from factory working) to make up his own company..
like old people say
we start from down then we build up till we succed...just dun give up yet ur still young to change ur life

I DO believe that God had a hand in it. Things that are worth having are worth working for. I also believe so because He gives us options and certain "roads" to take and it is up to us to decide. Sometimes we choose the easy route and others the hard route. You took the hard route and I believe that it was the route he wanted you to take. Good luck to you and your bright future!
