No body knows but we will be given a sign when it is time.According to a Polish nun by the name of Sr.Faustina Kowalska Jesus appeared to her with a message of Divine Mercy to reconcile mankind with God
Before the day of judgment arrives there will be given to the people a sign in the heavens of this sort :All light in the heavens will be extinguished and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky and from the openings where the hands and feet of the savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day.
Sr. Faustina was beatified by Pop John Paul 11 on April the 18th 1993.

That may be the end of the Mayan calendar, but it won't be the end of the Mayans -- they're long gone. The world will end on April 1, 5,000,000,147 CE, when the sun, having run out of hydrogen fuel in its core, turns into a red giant and eats the earth.

An age old question asked by humankind. This universe started, someday it has to end. Scientists have stated the universe began over 5 billion years ago, personally, and its my opinion, I don't think it will end all of a sudden. Well it could, but hopefully I won't be around when it does :D.

The problem with prophecy is it is often wrong. Anyone can guess anything and call it prophecy.
Besides, the world has been here millions upon millions of years, I doubt it'll just end, there won't be a poof and ooop no more planet.
Heck even if we had war there'd be survivors. Life continues.

The earth will go on for another 4 or5 billion years.
Mankind has probably another 200 to400 years to go.
At this time man will have the ability to annihilate himself and there will be many around willing to push the button.
