I have these grub in the front lawn, we live in a very rocky area , but the lawn has about 3 feet of fill and topsoil. For the past 2 years we have had these little brown fungus looking things on the lawn. People have told me it is caused by grubs. Does anyone know how to get rid of them. The mess is terrible by late august, and when it rains the brown fungus gets slimey. and by September the lawn looks terrible. thanks to anyone with an answer.

I have found some great stuff for this. It is an organic thing and it's called MILKY SPORES. It may take a couple of years to become effective but it does a good job. The grubs eat the spores and then they die, other grubs come and eat the dead grubs and they die. So the more grubs you have the faster it works.

I have tried oftanol and diazion and didn't have that much luck, but the milky spores did the job for me.

I used to have a beautiful bluegrass lawn, and the grubs got to it and you could pull the grass up just like a carpet. They ate out the root system so I lost all my sod. When I replanted I put in fescue.. It's a lot less work to keep nice, but it still doesn't look as good as the bluegrass. Good luck to you.

I like Scotts lawn products. I use them for grub control and it works well enough for me. It doesn't sound like you have grubs as much as a fungus. Try putting down the scotts for the grubs and also an anti fungal treatment as well. Don't skimp on the cheaper bags. You really get what you pay for when it comes to fertilizers and such.

I don't think thats grubs, grubs typically kill the grass and you can pull it up like a carpet. If you actually have grubs there are many different treatments for grubs, scotts makes a grub treatment you can pick up at your local hardware store.

Fungus is cause by excessive moister and shade, and can be treated by a fungicide from your local lawncare provider.

Diazanon crystals. They hatch into June bugs like a larva turns to a butterfly. But they will always come back.
