They sell solar covers the shape of your pool. It looks kind of like bubble wrap. It floats on top of the water, when the pool isn't in use. Remove it to swim & then replace it. It attacts the sun and keeps the heat in.

Last year we made a solar collector with 1.5" PVC mounted to the roof and painted black. It worked great but wasn't efficient early and late in the season. This year we are experimenting with a rocket mass heater.

yes find a way to circulate water through 1 or 2 150' BLACK water hoses... you can spread them out on your roof to get hit by the sun.... the first burst of water out of a hose sitting in the sun is too hot to touch

I think a solar water heater system will be better for you.
You also could use this system to offer hoy water to you home useing.
