I will turn 16 next year and have been researching cars for me. It has been a conflict because I can't find a car with a nice sporty, sleek look, good gas milage, and safety. I would be getting a used on so keep that in mind. I found a page that says the 2005 Scion tC gets 30-35 MPG, and no less than 4 stars in crash test ratings which is only ike 10 to 20% of severe injury.

Can anyone tell me your experiene with this car, especially those with used ones. How much would I expect to pay for a used 2005 Scion tC in a small town in Kentucky?

Also what is the roof made of? It's not all glass is it? I couldn't tell from the only pic I found.

I bought a used 2006 tC, 6 months old with 6k miles for $15999 out the door! If you do buy a used one, try to find one with the least amount of miles, of course and one that still is under factory warranty. With a used car, I would suggest taking it out on a test drive and calculating your miles on the speedo, fill up the tank, and figure out the gas mileage. I'm sure the dealer will understand. Then compare with other used cars.

As for gas mileage, the sticker says 23 city/30 highway. I get 25 city with an automatic! and I drive with a major lead foot!. Gas mileage all depends on how you first break the car in and also how you drive from 1st to 2nd gear. If you would like to know more, or talk with Scion owners check out my link below and also do a search about the panoramic moon/sun roof, you'll find lots of info.

The roof outside is all glass, but not inside. There are 3 interior panels covering the front, middle, and rear of the glass roof. You are completely safe with an all glass roof. There is a guy on ScionLife that rolled his tC 3 times and came out unharmed, just a few nicks. The roof was almost completely in tact! and he purchased another tC, so I feel pretty safe.

The Scion is a branch of Toyota. Which means that it is very good in all ways. The controls on the center of the dash are kind of complicated but it you can text message you can get used to it, The roof looks to be all glass from the outside, but from the inside you will see that it is sun roof front and back. You probably don't find many of them in small Kentucky town so look for adds in the big city.

Belt ought to have been replaced at 60,000 yet human beings do in comparison to having to shell out the $2,000.00 to have it executed and take the threat of having it snap and wreck the engine.. stable success,
