The song you are quoting is by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It is called 'That Smell'. It was released in 1977 on the album 'Street Survivors'.

Lyrics:
Whiskey bottles and brand new cars;
oak tree you're in my way.
There's too much coke and too much smoke
Look what's going on inside you.

CHORUS-
Ooh, ooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell?
Ooh, ooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you.

Yeah.
Angel of darkness is upon you.
Stuck a needle in your arm (you, fool, you)
So take another toke, have a blow for your nose,
one more drink, fool, would drown you. (hell, yeah)

CHORUS

Now they call you prince charming.
Can't speak a word when you're full of 'ludes.
Say you'll be alright come tomorrow, but
tomorrow might not be here for you. (yeah, you)

CHORUS

Aw, you, fool, you.
You stick them needles in your arm
I know I been there before.

One little problem that confronts you,
got a monkey on your back.
Just one more fix, Lord, might do the trick.
One hell of a price for you to get your kicks. (hell, yeah)

CHORUS 2x

Oh, you, fool, you
Don't stick those needles in your arm.
You're just a fool, just a fool, just a fool.

It is indeed Lynyrd Skynyrd and is called "That Smell". It is about the band's guitarist, Gary Rossington. Back in the 1970's, the height of the band's popularity, Gary once bought a new car, got drunk, and hit a tree before crashing it into someone's house. The band was scheduled to start a tour a few days later, but had to postpone because of Rossington's bad behavior. It was written by the band's lead singer, the late Ronnie Van Zant, and guitarist Allen Collins. The band subsequently fined Rossington $5,000 and banned all drugs and alcohol from the band's dressing room. Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and backup singer Cassie Gaines were all killed in a plane crash shortly after the 1977 tour began. The remaining band members are now together again and perform as Lynyrd Skynyrd and also as Van Zant, lead by Ronnie's brothers, Donnie and Johnny Van Zant.

It's by Lynard Skynard. The name of the song is "That smell". It was one of the last singles released off of the album "Street Survivors". It came out in 1977 right before the infamous plane crash that killed 3 band members. Kind of ironic, huh?
